NCNZ, Nursing in New Zealand

Updates and Whatnot

Here’s an update on what’s been happening lately in our little New Zealand household…

  • All of my paperwork has arrived at the Nursing Council, and it’s been confirmed.  They should have everything they need to evaluate my application.
  • Once my application for RN registration is approved, I have to wait till I have it in hand before I can apply for an annual “practising certificate”.
  • Once I have both my RN registration and practising certificate in hand, I can start working at the hospital.  My tentative start date is July 12th, but this may have to be moved back.
  • I am writing a post on “How to Become a Nurse in New Zealand” so that other US nurses will have a resource and a place to ask questions.  Once I’m done with it, I’ll put it on my sidebar under the “Moving to New Zealand…” section.  So far, my first version is 5 pages single-spaced.  Yikes.

That’s pretty much the “big news” around here.  Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

  1. YAY! I’m so glad things are moving along so easily… in the meantime be sure to enjoy yoru time off… now that I’ve been working for two years straight I’m so thankful for the few weeks I had between jobs… it feels like sometimes that’s the most vacation I’ve had in ages!
