Halloween

All Hallows’ Eve

Since we live about an hour away from Salem, MA, I’m already thinking about all of the fun, spooky, historical Halloween things that we can do during the month of October.

I checked out the official “Haunted Happenings” website of Salem, and there are so many fun-sounding events that I want to go to. Some that I’m most looking forward to:

1. The Salem Harvest Fest on October 18th – for $20 per person, you get a sampling of wines, craft beers, and mead.
2. Spiritways: A Night in Besieged Salem Village – a walk through dark woods to Old Salem Village, where the original Salem girls began the start of the Salem Witch Trials. Complete with costumed actors, stories, and history. Apparently, it’s too creepy for children under the age of 13, so sign me up!
3. Legacy of the Hanging Judge – based on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s story, and takes place in the Nathaniel Hawthorne House
4. The Official Salem Witches Halloween Ball – takes place in the Nathaniel Hawthorne House and on the green. Rated by AOL-CitySearch as one of America’s Top Halloween parties. But, at $150 per person, I may have to sit this one out.

  1. My husband would make me sit the ball out too. But it sounds like it would be a blast! Mr. Guru won’t even go to a haunted house or anything like your #2 so have fun for me too!!!
