…that you didn’t have to deal with a sick dog this weekend. What a mess. I’ll spare you the details, but it was coming out both ends. Not fun. I’m used to dealing with bodily fluids because of being a nurse, but I’m not used to coming down the stairs in my own home and stepping in it! I guess this is just a precursor to the days when we have children 🙂
Bear’s feeling better now. He’s not vomiting anymore, but he’s still having some, ahem, “bowel issues”, to put it delicately. I’ve been feeding him a bland diet of boiled hamburger (yes boiled, not browned), and a cottage cheese and pumpkin puree mixture (for the fiber), along with plenty of water to prevent dehydration. I know that the standard diet for doggy GI illnesses typically includes rice and lamb or chicken, but Bear won’t eat rice, and boiled hamburger works just as well. Brainwave! Maybe I can sneak some of the rice into the cottage cheese… hmm… I also threw out his dog food, sterilized his bowls and food mat, washed his bed, and gave him extra hugs. He seems just fine and is acting like his usual self. If this doesn’t clear up within another 2 days, we’ll probably make a little trip to the vet 🙂
Awwwww! I’ll never forget the day S and I came home from work only to find our carpet covered in piles and piles of uhm, doggy-D. It was EVERYWHERE. And we have a black lab, so its not like these were little piles.
Anyways, just wanted to let you know I feel your pain! Hope the little guy is feeling better soon 🙂

aww poor little guy! what type of dog is he? we have 2 cats and had problems with tryin to find some biscuits that suit them both without them both throwing up everywhere!
