Penelope

We don’t have cable (by choice), mostly because we hardly ever watch TV. When we did have cable included with our rent (in Indiana), I found that we watched it too often. We’d end up lounging on the couch in the evenings, not really talking to each other, just watching. Neither of us liked that.

When we moved here, we decided “NO CABLE”. And we’ve been very happy with that decision. Anyway, back to the point of this post – tonight, we watched “Penelope”, starring Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, and Reese Witherspoon. And Catherine O’Hara. I like Catherine O’Hara 🙂

It was a cute movie. Nice, fairytale-ish, and with a happy ending. A tiny bit on the sappy side, but that’s what those kind of movies are meant to be like, in my opinion. And it is most definitely a chick flick. Chris suffered through it with me because he’s a dear, but its more the kind of film a mom takes her daughter to, or to which an aunt would take her niece. Still, it was entertaining, and that’s what a movie is ultimately meant to be, right?

  1. Kudos on the no cable. We haven’t had cable for a bout two years now and enjoy dvd’s a lot. Also we have noticed that we aren’t missing much in the world without television. We receive our daily newspaper and the internet is wonderful for news LOL So enjoy the lack of cable, it is nice!
