SUPER GOOD NEWS!

I have some great news! This morning, Chris was offered a post-doc fellowship at the University of Notre Dame! Woo hoo! It’s for the 2009-2010 school year, starting in August. He’ll be paid the same as any professor, but he doesn’t have to teach any classes – he can spend all of his time doing research! That is so awesome! For the three areas that Chris specializes in, it’s ranked #1, #5, and “somewhere in the top 10”, respectively, in the United States. In other words, it’s an amazing program and it will really help his career. Another cool thing – he was a visiting scholar there during grad school, so he already knows the faculty, the school, and has several friends there 🙂

Even though he’ll be taking a pay cut, the cost of living is so much less than here in New England that he’ll actually be earning more. Oh, and the New Zealand job hasn’t been ruled out yet. If he were offered that job, he could still do the Notre Dame post-doc because of flexibility in the offer. I’ll spare you the details 🙂 The important thing is that Chris has gotten this, and he worked his rear end off to get there. I’m so proud of you, Honey!

**On a side note, my meeting that I was supposed to have this morning never took place. The person I was supposed to meet with didn’t show up or return my call, so I’m not sure what happened. Hopefully, I’ll know more tomorrow. Thanks for all of your good wishes!**
