Chris, gifts, Jewelry, Photos, Presents

Thanks, Sweetie :-)

Chris knows that I love to get presents (what girl doesn’t?), and he knows that these presents don’t have to be big or expensive – just gestures to let me know that he’s thinking of me. This morning, I get up at the leisurely hour of 9:30 (I’m working evenings tonight, so I don’t go in till 3:30pm). I look around the house for Chris, and rather disappointedly realize that he’s not home. I sit at my computer, still in my pajamas, and start checking email.

Chris comes home about 15 minutes later, walks up the stairs, gives me a kiss, and says “I have a present for you, but don’t get too excited about it, okay?” He holds out this white box…

I’m all excited and start to make a fuss, telling him he shouldn’t give me gifts first thing in the morning because I look terrible. He just laughs 🙂 I open it up, and wrapped in blue paper is this interesting-looking, pretty necklace…

Now Chris knows that I usually don’t wear gold, brown, and black jewelry, so I was a little surprised at the choice. Then he told me that I’d once mentioned to him that I liked a necklace that looked “sort of like this one”. A student of his came in to class wearing the above, so he asked where she got it. She told him the name of a store up the Cape, but then told him it was only open during the summer. So what does Chris do? He makes a note on his calendar for mid-May, then calls them up and asks if they could email him some pictures. He then orders the necklace and has them ship it here, 5 1/2 months after he first saw his student wearing it. Isn’t that so sweet?

When he told me the story behind getting the necklace, it reminded me of how lucky I am to be married to my husband. Thank you so much, Sweetie, for always thinking of me and telling me I look pretty, even first thing in the morning 🙂

  1. that is so sweet!! it’s the thought behind the present that makes it just as special as giving the present. he needs to teach classes on how to be the perfect husband! lol.
