Book Walk

Joe and I took a walk the other day.  Destination?  “Jason Books” in Chancery…

Joe was pretty excited to be out and about in the mei-tai carrier…

Of course, within 5 minutes of walking he looked like this…

And in case you’re interested, here’s the full view of Joe in the carrier…

“My future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades…”

We passed several shops on our way to the bookstore…

We finally got to the book shop…

As one would expect in a book shop, it had a lot of books!

We headed over to the children’s section.  There wasn’t a big supply of baby books, but I did find a book of poetry.  Perhaps you’ve heard of it?

{Forgot to mention that they sell new and used books… this one is obviously not new!}

I’ll bet you recognize that character in the bottom-right corner!

We meandered back home after buying our book.  I fed Joe, then tucked him into his bouncinette and read him some poems.  He seemed to enjoy it, and so did I.  Well worth the $8.00 + a walk 🙂

  1. What a sweet day. It’s even more amazing when they start responding to the books.

New follower through the finding friends hop. Looking forward to reading more about you, your boy and NZ!

  2. Jenny-

LOVE it! Sweet little Joe is so cute and love the one where he is “fast asleep”! I love reading about the adventures in the city that you take us all along on.

I love that the bookstore sells both old and new books, and I’m sure Joe will love his “new” book 🙂

  3. Thank you for posting that pic of the mei tai, because I have one, too, but I’m still tucking Ella’s legs up in it, and now, I see that you can stick them out, and that seems way better! Don’t know why that didn’t occur to me!

  4. Haven’t had a chance to come by and congratulate you on baby Joe! He is absolutely adorable! Congratulations! It’s nice that there are still small bookstores out there, especially now that Borders here in the US is going out of business.

  5. I read tons of studies that say you can predict a child’s academic success by the amount (and variety) of words they hear by 2/3 so it warms my heart to see a mama go out of her way to find such a sweet book!

  6. Cute! Joe looks comfy in his carrier. And I love the old Poo book! I think books are like wine… they only get better with age! 😀
